SpaceMan Home & Office was featured on the Emmy-nominated ABC TV reality show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The show selected SpaceMan to design and install custom closet systems in the new home of the Kubena family from East Bernard, Texas. The Kubena family was chosen after show’s producers learned about the twin 7-year old girls battling leukemia. With rising medical bills and the rigors of traveling back and forth to the Texas Medical Center, the family of six moved into a 2 bedroom trailer with limited space. The trailer’s inadequate ventilation system prevented one of the twins from returning home after receiving a bone marrow transplant.
SpaceMan donated seven closets and a pantry in addition to the labor required to manufacture and install the systems. During filming, EMHE discovered the amazing coincidence that SpaceMan’s owner, David Linda, is not only on the National Bone Marrow Registry, but was an anonymous donor for another family.
