Material
We use industrial, furniture-grade melamine laminated particle board.  The board is ¾” thick, and is laminated on both sides with 120 gram thermally fused melamine.  The board meets or exceeds specifications of the American laminators association and American national standard ANSI A208.0-1989, Grade 1-M-3.

Edge banding
Exposed edges are banded with permanently affixed, 1mm thick PVC edge banding material.  The edge is permanently glued on and applied under pressure by an automatic edgebander.

Machining
Our products are custom built in a modern manufacturing facility.  All cutting of raw board is done on an Homag CH-02 computerized panel saw, assuring perfectly square cuts for level and plumb storage systems.

All edgebanding is done on a Biesse Akron 440 automatic edgebander with dual radius and buffing units as well as automatic scrapers assuring a perfectly finished edge.

Drilling for all adjustment holes and is done on a Adwood Detel D2-H precision automated boring machine.  Construction holes and hinge holes are bored on a Red Devil hinge insertion boring machine, resulting in absolute precision parts for best possible alignment.

Assembly Hardware
The closet and storage systems produced by SpaceMan are assembled with the latest in European 32 millimeter hardware.  The fittings that hold the cabinets together are cam type “ready-to-assemble” furniture fittings.  Shelf pins are plated steel and our hang rod is a one-millimeter wall thickness chrome plated tubular oval (not round) stock.  This structural shape provides greater strength

Drawers
Drawers are installed with full-extension ball-bearing slides with a 100 lb rating.  These provide 100% access to what’s inside.

Construction
Standard storage systems built by SpaceMan Home & Office, Inc. are either floor-standing units or wall-hung units.  With floor-standing systems, the weight of the system and the items placed on it are borne by the floor. These systems are also attached to the wall using “L” brackets to assure that the units cannot be pulled forward.  Wall-hung sections are secured with a European steel rail and bracket system that anchors to your studs and is guaranteed trouble-free for the life of the product.
